I got the best present in the mail this weekend!!! E, one of my friends from G’ville, sent me a bottle of silver nailpolish to feed my Christmas silver nailpolish fix. Yay!!! What a happy surprise! Now I can have the classic Christmas look I’ve been longing for, plus, I got a letter from a really good friend, plus her address so I can write her back. :)
Meanwhile, today is a Tuesday. I woke up late. I made it to work anyway. I showered really, really fast and tried to pick out clothes that were decently Christmasy. My bible study’s Christmas walk is tonight, which means we are going to take a walking tour of our houses to see eachother’s Christmas trees.
Silver fingernails will be a perfect compliment to the Christmas walk.
We have these pointsetta plants on our desks at work. Being in the lobby, I have three. Apparently we have to care for them ourselves (!!!!!) If you know me at all, I don’t have to tell you that the big one is getting pretty droopy. Can I get in trouble for this? Are they going to give me a talking to? I mean, I already had to look up “lighting a menorah” so that I could do it right, now I have to worry about my ineptitude with plant-watering? Christmas is tough business.
Because of the menorah/tree in the lobby at work, I have mentioned “Christmakuh” to more than one person. I need to stop doing this because I think people think I made it up and that I am just clever that way. I don’t want to mislead them that way! But I don’t want to be all “but The OC rocks man, dude, c’mon” to people, so I just let it slide. I feel like this is going to backfire somehow, somewhere, someway. (That last part was for you, E.)
My other office secret is this, one attorney here that I really really like thinks my name is Emily and it is waaaay too late to correct her. I live in constant fear that it’s going to come out and it will be so awkward when it does. Noooo! This is just like when that other girl thought my name was Kim for like, six months and I just let her keep calling me that. Why can’t I be better at stuff like this?
So funny! Maybe I’ll start to call you Emily, too. I needed the laugh, as it is Tuesday morning and my morning “off” to write is not happening, rather I am stuck nursing sick kids to health and doing a mound of dirty dishes. Dang it! See you tonight.
