Ugh. My wisdom teeth are hurting. All five of them, I think.
So yesterday I was handed a golden ticket to Jokes For The Day, and it was the cougar. Oh Cougar! Bless you for offering me a day of anecdotes and one-liners. I really needed that. Yesterday was Cougar Joke Day. I celebrated primarily on facebook and in text messages, but also verbally, you know, in social situations etc. Whenever I could force the subject of big cats to arise.
So I guess onto today, a day when my wisdom teeth hurt and I am wearing this kickass shirt that makes me feel like a soon-to-be mob wife. It’s like this weird animal print with a plunging V-neck. Actually. With a little more volume in my hair and a pair of red pumps I could look a little like The Nanny in it. If I wanted. My stlye right now, though, is a little bit more “sleepy receptionist.” I mean it. All the way down to the hair pulled half back and glasses.
Okay so here’s what I’m thinking. It’s Wednesday. After a little bit of master planning (Amyblogdictionary says: writing in Starbucks after work) I am going to go home and whip up something domestic. I’m thinking maybe chicken noodle soup. What do you put in that, like onions carrots, um, noodles? Yeah. I can totally make that. I have all that stuff. Spices. I’ll borrow some of those from Wayne. I can probably put some garlic in there that might be good. Yeah. Yeah! I’m going to do it. Yeah!
Okay and then here is one letting-myself-off-the-hook aspiration. I have been working on this huge afghan FOREVER, like, I started it for my boyfriend three boyfriends ago. And I am still not finished. And I would like to really finish. And I have it promised to Wayne. (I know that probably doesn’t sound fine, but it is.) Anyway, so when I crochet I usually try to work on that. But it is such a big blanket and I am sick of working on it. Blue! Sick of blue. So I think I am just going to… crochet something else. Just do it, you know. Just find a cute pattern and finish something cute. Oooh, that sounds so good.
So tonight I am going to make chicken noodle soup, crochet something cute, and possibly feed the children because as it turns out I am the most Domestic I Have Ever Been today on this day, post-cougar.
Ooh maybe I will even paint my nails some cute classic color like red or pink. I like it. Good idea.
If you happen to need some surrogate kids for domesticity, um, I have some to loan out:).
I love love love being domestic! Have I told you - I don’t think I’ve told you - I got my red Kitchenaid stand mixer!! Dan’s grandma bought it for me as a wedding present! I am sooooo in love. I made the most amazing cupcakes in it on Sunday. Now, I can’t take total credit, as the cake-part was a mix, but I made the frosting entirely from scratch. It was probably the most satisfying thing ever to lick that spatula and taste that frosting. Mmmmm. I think I need to go have one now.
Anyway, all that to say I’m happy I have someone to be geeky about having domestic moments with. That’s kind of a sentence, I swear.
